The Save Our Soil Kaw Valley Foundation is dedicated to protecting the rare and irreplaceable glacial and mineral soils of the Kaw River Valley—some of the most fertile and productive farmland in the world.

The foundation is a private, non-profit organization advocating for a future where communities recognize farming as the highest and best use of fertile farmland and work to protect farmland that sustains our economy, environment, and quality of life.

We advocate for the preservation of this vital agricultural resource through education, policy engagement, and community partnerships. Our mission is to ensure that this land continues to sustain and support future generations, protect our local food security, and preserve the unique natural, cultural, and economic heritage of the region.

By safeguarding the land, water, and rural traditions of the Kaw River Valley, we uphold the belief that agricultural use—not industrial development—is the highest and best use of this prime farmland.
